Get to Know Your Team:

  • Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Dietician (RD) performs, dietary planning and modification as well as evaluating individual progress toward nutrition goals in an outpatient setting.
  • The RD will function in the Hillcrest Exercise and Lifestyle Program (HELP) providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), diabetes-specific meal planning, nutritional assessment and counseling as well as nutrition consults on heart healthy eating for the cardiac patient population.
  • RD documents the plan given to provide optimal nutritional status for patients. Documentation is done in EMR and cardiac rehab system.
  • Reviews patient's chart and interviews patient and interested family members affecting nutritional status.
  • Counsel's patient and family, individualizing diet to patient's needs and indicated by patient and/or patient's physician.
  • Works with patient's referring physician in providing appropriate diet.
  • Participates in team conferences and keeps progress notes on each patient.
  • Delivers services in a clinically appropriate manner and in compliance with overall patient care plan.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • 4 year/Bachelors Degree
  • Oklahoma licensure (or Provisional Licensure Status)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certified Diabetes Educator
