(NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner/Coordinator for its IG South Subregion. The basic function of this role is to minimize total cost by growing work force and resource capabilities through prioritizing, planning and prioritization of maintenance work orders. The Maintenance Planner/Coordinator will co-lead backlog review and prioritization activities along with the maintenance supervisors. The planner/coordinator will develop a work scope and assemble job planning packages for SAP work orders to: estimate cost related to labor, materials, equipment and special tool requirements to complete the job in a safe and efficient manner. Technical Skills / Abilities:
- Review of drawings, specifications, etc., to resolve scope of work, required content of estimate, and prepare time and cost estimates, planning preparing bids, and resolving whether the work is classified as capital or non-capital.
- Review the SAP backlog with Production and Maintenance Supervisors/Superintendent to ensure that all associated work is planned and materials & equipment are available for work execution.
- Prepare detailed lists of planned work and discuss with Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to schedule maintenance activities.
- Recommend the following needs for planned activities: contractor, resource, parts and vendors.
- Coordinate and help handle all contractor work activities on site towards safety, quality and work scope execution.
- Track cost and coordinates the utilization of equipment, materials & rentals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the planning of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for the Air Products IG South Subregion Facilities.
- Required to carry out on-site assessments of the resources vital to enable the maintenance team to successfully conduct the various maintenance activities. This will include collaborating closely with technical and non-technical departments within Air Products and external contractors.
- Creating detailed plans, job work scopes, cost estimates and forecasts is a meaningful aspect of this role.
- Knowledge, experience and initiative to function in a key role during major planned maintenance TAR.
- Involvement in a variety of other tasks including the co-ordination and execution of reliability and efficiency improvement projects.
- Helping to handle the Maintenance 'SPEND' across the IG South Subregion.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
- High school diploma with preferred relative technical school or college degree. Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.
- Five (5) plus years' experience in the petrochemical & manufacturing industry. Prior planning & estimating experience is a plus.
- Self-starter with a shown work history and excellent references along with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Good working knowledge of the maintenance associated with industrial plant equipment such as pressure systems, rotating machinery, instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of piping specifications, boiler code, and industrial regulations.
- Microsoft Tools such as Word and Excel are essential. A solid understanding of SAP will be an advantage.
- Good communication & coordination skills are also a must.
