CEI Senior Inspector

This role is critical in delivering high-quality Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for transportation and public works projects in accordance with client specifications and regulatory standards. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Perform inspection and documentation of roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with contract plans, specifications, and standards.

• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.

• Conduct and oversee field inspections, density testing, material sampling, and other quality assurance activities.

• Maintain accurate daily inspection reports, logs, and photographic documentation using FDOT-approved formats and systems (e.g., MAC).

• Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level CEI inspectors, ensuring proper execution of inspection protocols and documentation standards.

• Perform or assist with project quantity measurements, pay item tracking, and verification of final estimates.

• Participate in project meetings and review contractor submittals, RFIs, and work progress.

• Interpret and apply plans, specifications, permits, MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) requirements, and environmental compliance standards.

• Identify and report deviations or non-conforming work; recommend corrective actions as needed.

• Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator or CEI Project Engineer.

Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary Range:$56,000 - $80,000
Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
