Are you ready to apply your financial expertise to one of the most dynamic supply chains in the food industry? As a Senior Financial Analyst on Smithfield Foods' Supply Chain Finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining our strong financial standing while driving cost transparency and operational efficiency. You'll work across transportation, warehousing, and inventory planning to deliver insights that shape strategic decisions and improve performance.

You will analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support leadership with accurate costing, forecasting, and compliance. This role blends deep financial knowledge with hands-on collaboration across supply chain functions, offering high visibility and impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports for transportation and warehousing.

    • Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.

    • Compare actual results with plans and forecasts to identify trends and performance gaps.

  • Strategic Support & Cost Management

    • Guide cost analysis processes by enforcing policies, identifying trends, and recommending actions.

    • Analyze proposed changes in methods and interpret data to support strategic decisions.

    • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned supply chain functions

  • Systems, Compliance & Special Projects

    • Assist in developing management reports using SAP BI, SAP BPC, SAP General Ledger, and transportation systems.

    • Prepare ad-hoc reports and participate in special studies to evaluate key business opportunities.

    • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements and protect financial data confidentiality.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Economics and 5+ years of relevant experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior accounting/GAAP knowledge.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access).

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately critical.

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience in CPG industry is a plus.

  • Knowledge of data analytics systems and reporting functionality is a plus.
