The Construction & Renovation Services Department within the University of Virginia's Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for a candidate seeking a career in Facilities Management.We have an opening for an Environmental Remediation Technician position, where the selected candidate will be trained to remove asbestos and lead from a wide variety of surfaces on a smaller scale. The incumbent provides installation of a wide variety if insulation in renovation and new construction. Individuals must maintain compliance with all policies and procedures to include EPA, NIOSH and OSHA and University requirements. Successful candidates are required to complete and pass the annual Respirator Fit Test. Candidates must be mechanically inclined with the ability to operate hand tools. This position requires the ability to work altering shifts. The Environmental Remediation Technician position requiresgood written and verbal communication skills. Duties Include:

For this position, the selected candidate will need to complete the required background checks prior to the start date of the position. Compensation: Anticipated Hiring Range:$20.00 - $23.00 per hour ($41,600 - $47,840 Annually). This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
Physical Demands: The employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks). The employee must have normal vision and hearing (correctable), and for some areas of employment, color vision and sense of smell.
