Summary

Technologist will perform MRI scans on LOC patients using the protocols determined by Louisville X-Ray Associates Radiologists.
In addition to performing MRIs, this individual will need to chart in EPIC, send images within Agfa EI PACS system, and provide patients care.

Job Description:

MRI Tech - Ortho Clinic

30 Hours Weekly, Part Time (3 - 10hr Shifts; 7:30a - 6p Monday - Friday; No Weekends, Call or Holidays)

We are seeking a skilled and professional MRI Technologist to join our orthopedic clinic. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean and orderly department, adhere to the dress code, and demonstrate professionalism through personal actions. Responsibilities include screening patients for safety, verifying screening forms, and ensuring necessary x-rays are taken and cleared by a radiologist when indicated. The MRI Tech will obtain patient history, assess for medication needs, and prepare patients for exams, including changing clothes, providing reassurance, administering medications, and explaining procedures. Candidates must be able to start IVs for scans requiring IV contrast and monitor patients throughout their time in the MRI area.

Additional duties include assisting with patient safety standards by verifying armbands and provider orders, performing daily equipment quality assurance, and administering contrast media under physician direction in accordance with department policies. The MRI Tech will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and charting information related to each case, assisting in registration and patient check-in as needed, and reporting equipment malfunctions or other issues to management. Flexibility to assist in other areas and take on additional duties as assigned is essential.

Completion of Associate Level Accredited Radiologic Technology Program
