Oxy's Power group manages approximately 1,500 MW of generation and 1,000 MW of load in the ERCOT and MISO markets, and an additional 1,000 MW of load in regulated markets across North America. In addition, the Power group interacts with all of Oxy's Business units in North America in support of their current and future power needs, including the fast-growing Oxy Low Carbon Ventures division.
Oxy's Power group is seeking an experienced energy management professional for the role of Director Power whose primary objective is to ensure access to affordable and reliable power for the company's industrial assets in Louisiana and in other states, as assigned. The ideal candidate will adopt a macro approach to power, demonstrating a keen awareness of and ability to communicate and influence current and evolving policies at utilities, state and federal commissions, ISOs and RTOs and within trade associations. This role includes the direct management of existing power purchase agreements and oversight of demand response participation at select facilities and will require the ability to negotiate future agreements. Additionally, the Director Power will lead the implementation of power purchasing strategies aimed to lower the carbon intensity of Oxy's power consumption in their areas of responsibility. The position will require the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities:
*Lead all energy aspects of Oxy's domestic assets in assigned areas, including electricity and steam (as applicable).
*Lead the company's strategy in the assigned power market(s) through effective participation in regulatory matters, including ISO/RTO stakeholder processes, trade groups, and utility commission cases.
*Engage with internal and external senior level stakeholders to create and execute action plans necessary to ensure the availability of cost-effective and reliable power for the respective business units in geographical area of responsibility.
*Identify and execute power purchasing strategies to reduce Oxy's Scope II emissions from power consumption.
*Develop a detailed understanding of the electric market and accompanying rate structures within assigned geographic areas and optimize their impact upon Oxy's electricity costs.
*Provide analysis, recommendation and strategies regarding the power costs of each domestic business unit.
*Create and implement strategies which reduce Oxy's overall power costs.
*Advise internal stakeholders of rule and tariff changes affecting ongoing project evaluations and efforts.
*Provide leadership and support of energy related projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree is required
*RTO and/or ISO stakeholder process knowledge and experience
*Minimum of 15 years of experience with utilities, industrial energy management or power regulatory areas.
*Detail oriented with superior problem solving and organizational skills (business and financial).
*Experience with wholesale market design and rules.
*Ability to influence without authority.
*Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
*Ability to work across multiple disciplines, organization levels and functions.
*Ability to travel to Oxy sites, Utility sites, various meeting and training locations as necessary, estimated at 15% to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:

*MBA or Law Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
*Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and/or Southwest Power Pool (SPP) knowledge and experience
*Working knowledge and experience with the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) policies and processes
