POSITION SPECIFICS

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Computing Engineers and to join our Access and Evaluation team of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.

Your working location will be on-site in State College, Pennsylvania.

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:

  • Develop software and approaches for full-stack development, including working with low-level code working directly with hardware, developing cloud solutions, data engineering for information storage and retrieval, and development of front-end tools for use by data analysts
  • Support test and evaluation of software and models
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis for testing hypothesis
  • Develop and implement data analytics techniques and applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
  • Develop and apply algorithms and prototypes to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets to support analytics objectives
  • Visualize, interpret, and report data findings in dynamic data reports

Required skills/experience areas include:

  • Computer programing languages, such as Python or C/C++
  • Linux, including familiarity with bash and shell scripts
  • Cloud architectures
  • A willingness to both work with hardware and develop high-level software applications
  • Eligible for government security clearance

Preferred skills/experience areas include:

  • An existing secret or top secret security clearance
  • Development of software within DoD development environment
  • Development or evaluation AI/ML models

Your working location will be located fully onsite in State College

Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or Science No prior relevant work experience required Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $76,700.00 - $115,100.00.**THE PROPOSED SALARY RANGE MAY BE IMPACTED BY GEOGRAPHIC DIFFERENTIAL**
