Tesla is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Cathode Maintenance Team. What You'll Do
- Collaborate with theMaintenanceteam to install power distribution systems, transformers, lighting, temporary construction power, and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC
- Maintain and troubleshoot various electrical components to ensure operational efficiency
- Interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints to plan, install, and enhance electrical systems
- Consult manuals and project electrical drawings to execute and plan work scopes effectively
- Perform a wide variety of electrical tasks and provide timely feedback on progress and challenges
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols while working at heights up to 80 ft. or during rotating shifts
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
- Proficiency in sizing conductors and conduits using the NEC code book
- Experience with electrical systems from low to high voltage up to 480 VAC, with medium voltage experience as a plus
- Ability to interpret electrical prints, schematics, diagrams, and P&IDs
- Capability to test and commission work per Tesla procedures and building department codes
- Strong knowledge of job site safety, including hazard evaluation and pre-work task planning focused on electrical safety and the willingness to work a 7 on 7 off rotating shift or be on-call as needed
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a dayin a fast-paced, noisy environment
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs, including the ability to carry 20 lbs up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
