Job Description:

Serves as a strategic thinker, skilled storyteller, and digital native responsible for executing Trinity's social media strategy through hands-on management of the daily content calendar, publishing posts across platforms, performance reporting, and collaboration with content teams. Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing, this role is central to elevating Trinity University's reputation and visibility through thoughtful strategy, engaging content, and real-time interaction. Leads the planning and execution of integrated social media campaigns, uses data to drive decision-making, and brings creativity and consistency to every post, story, and thread across a range of platforms.

JOB DUTIES

  • Executes Trinity's social media strategy by managing the daily social media calendar and publishing content across all key platforms. Manages day-to-day posts and real-time event or stories coverage to engage audiences.

  • Creates, curates, and manages high-quality content for social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.

  • Monitors social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of digital marketing.

  • As necessary and appropriate, engages with followers and responds to comments and messages in a timely manner, fostering a positive community around the brand.

  • Collaborates with content, design, and digital marketing teams to ensure creative and cohesive messaging, branding, and storytelling.

  • Owns recurring platform reporting and performance tracking to support content optimization and campaign planning.

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of Digital Marketing, manages the setup, execution, and monitoring of paid social campaigns based on strategy and guidance provided by the Associate Director. Collaborates on campaign planning and assists with budget tracking and performance analysis. Stays updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.

  • Supports campus partners with platform-specific best practices, as needed.

  • Oversees our studentsocial media intern team.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Collaborates with internal and external partners on social media to enhance brand visibility.

  • Ensures compliance with brand guidelines and messaging consistency across all platforms.

  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.

  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Two years of experience in social media management and digital marketing, with a proven track record of successful campaigns.

Preferred:

  • Experience contributing to social media strategy development and supporting paid campaign planning and execution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics tools, and best practices.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours for special events or campaigns as needed.
