Maintenance - Building and Grounds/Janitorial

1st Shift, Monday to Friday 7am-3pm, with some flexibility
Starting Wage: $18.00

Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a full range of custodial and building services related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned facilities.

Essential Functions:

• Dust, mop, vacuum hallway, empty garbage cans, recycle cans, and maintain floors.
• Clean restrooms, break room, and maintain inside/outside of the facility.
• Maintain grounds including, but not limited to: lawn, landscaping, sidewalk, water features, patio, smoking area, parking lot, and snow removal.
• Maintain building including, but not limited to: structural repairs (floor, doors, ceiling, locks, windows), painting; minor electrical repairs (replace receptacles, switches, light bulbs, ballast, fixtures); plumbing repairs (faucet, sink, toilet repair and/or replacement, unclog drains, etc.)
• Works independently and efficiently manages time.
• Participates in continuous improvement programs.
• Employ effective, respectful and persuasive spoken and written communication skills.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
• Adheres to all current company policies.
• Works under minimum supervision (2-4 contacts per shift)
• Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Functions effectively in a fast paced, diverse, team environment.
• Assist with department cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior building maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages).
• Ability to read, recognize, and/or understand simple general instructions.
• Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
• Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
• Satisfactory completion of a MVR
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Environment and Physical Demands:

• Works 8 hour shifts. Work during weekends and holidays may be required.
• Occasionally works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations.)
• May require On Call responsibilities as needed.
• Basic vision requirements.
• Continuously stands, pushes, pulls, reaches, handles, bends, lifts, and stoops (occasional maximum lift of 50lbs.)
• Occasionally work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
