The Scrum Master is a key enabler of Agile delivery and team performance, dedicated to guiding Agile teams toward greater efficiency, transparency, and alignment. In this role, the Scrum Master acts as a servant leader, mentor, and facilitator-empowering teams to self-organize, make data-informed decisions, and continuously improve.

By leading Agile ceremonies and maintaining an environment of open communication, the Scrum Master ensures consistent delivery of high-quality work. They work closely with Product Owners to maintain a well-groomed backlog and help align team output with business objectives. Through proactive impediment removal and coaching on Agile principles, the Scrum Master fosters a collaborative culture that supports both individual and team growth. This role is also responsible for driving visibility and accountability through metrics and regular reporting to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

Agile Facilitation & Ceremony Leadership:

  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, review and retrospectives.
  • Ensure meetings are purposeful, time-boxed, and result in actionable outcomes.
  • Maintain team Agile discipline and identify maturity opportunities.
  • Guide sprint planning using knowledge of assigned technology domain (e.g. cloud)

Team Support & Impediment Removal:

  • Proactively identify and remove impediments to maintain team momentum and velocity.
  • Serve as a buffer between the team and external distractions, protecting team focus.
  • Model and promote resilience during change or uncertainty
  • Sustain influence and shape team identity.

Agile Coaching & Best Practices:

  • Provide ongoing coaching on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and team collaboration techniques.
  • Support the team's Agile maturity by introducing and reinforcing best practices and continuous improvement habits.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Demand Process Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities.
  • Assist in backlog refinement and prioritization to ensure that work is well-defined and actionable.

Metrics, Reporting & Transparency:

  • Track sprint metrics such as velocity, burndown, predictability and team capacity to inform planning and improvements.
  • Promote open communication through regular reporting and updates to stakeholders on progress and risks.

Requirements include:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in one of the following technology domains: Cybersecurity, Digital, Cloud, Data and AI, or Healthcare IT (e.g., Epic)
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and servant leadership principles
  • Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and remove team impediments
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Agile delivery tools(e.g., Jira)
  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Ability to guide teams through the practical application of Agile values and principles
  • Strong facilitation skills for Agile ceremonies, workshops, and team discussions
  • Clear and concise communicator, able to engage with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive in addressing risks and obstacles before they impact timelines
  • Competence in using Agile metrics to drive team performance
  • Ability to analyze data and use it to foster transparency, predictability, and accountability
  • Experienced with Agile delivery tools(e.g., Jira)
  • Able to configure boards, generate reports, and streamline workflows to support team efficiency
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments with little to no exposure to Agility.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn other technical skills on the fly.

Preferred:

  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification
  • Experience working in scaled Agile environments
  • Background in change management or Lean Methodologies.
