This analyst opportunity will work within Medica's Clinical Services division, supporting optimization efforts for clinical systems and integrations specifically focused on our claims platform migration efforts. Key accountabilities include representing the voice of the customer by providing domain knowledge and expertise to drive business outcomes, including the coordination of people, process and technology. This role will operationalize regulatory and/or business requirements, including process improvement and work related to our platform migration efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities



  • Ensures systems and processes are ready for claim platform migration efforts, evaluates system processes and procedures, develops recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business system operations. Coordinates with vendor as needed.

    • Gather, research, and document functional and non-functional requirements from business stakeholders leveraging process flows, swim lanes, business requirements documentation, user stories, and other supporting tools.
    • Ensures solutions follow Medica policies, government regulatory & legislative requirements
    • Tracks and drives issues through resolution with appropriate areas such as IT, configuration, etc.


  • Research and speak expertly regarding the functionality of our clinical documentation system; includes providing support as the system subject matter expert within business and project teams
  • Drives scalable operational and reporting processes to align with Medica growth strategies. Reduces manual processes and duplication by implementing automation and standardized practices


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • 5+ years of related experience with 4+ years of experience working on large organizational projects


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working in business systems analysis or product ownership strongly preferred, particularly within clinical services and/or claims areas
  • Foundational understanding of health insurance operations
  • Experience working with technological development teams utilizing Agile methods

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, or Madison, WI.

The full salary range for this position is $77,100 - $132,200. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
