This role is responsible for managing lending/credit for a wide range of credit relationships. Leads due diligence, deal structuring. Partners with Relationship Management Team for credit solution delivery, negotiation. Manages portfolio, maintains credit quality, profitability targets. Tracks market, sector, competitive trends. Develops insights on loan types, credit trends in sectors. Coaches and mentors staff. Ensures any emerging risks are elevated and addressed and adheres to processes and procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Credit Structuring and Underwriting and Client Relationship - Lead the structuring, underwriting, and closing of credit solutions for prospects and clients. Responsible for the process end to end including engaging with Relationship Management, clients/prospects, Credit Admin, Legal partners, and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Manage resources effectively and responsibly for client risk and scale/volume. Maintain and enhance relationships with key client stakeholders. Provide ongoing support and advice to clients, resolving any issues or complaints.
  • Portfolio Management and Risk Management - Conduct thorough financial analysis and risk assessment of client portfolios. Manage assigned portfolio of borrowing relationships, reviewing information, evaluating risk, and engaging with clients. Build relationships with appropriate stakeholders and communicate internally to recommend and execute on responses to changing situations for clients. Ensure compliance with bank policies, controls, risk protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration - Support the MD/Director as a leader in team development, including collaboration and coaching of Associates who support the team. Collaborate with other banking departments and teams to deliver high-quality service and solutions to clients. Provide training to less experienced staff and support MD/Director in team leadership.
  • Market and Industry Expertise - Demonstrate subject matter expertise including market, sector and competitive trends, business models, lending models. Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and bank products and services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Commercial banking, Credit Underwriting or Analysis, or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in technology or healthcare sectors OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Commercial banking, Credit Underwriting or Analysis, or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in technology or healthcare sectors.

Preferred Area of Study: Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.Preferred Area of Experience: Technology or healthcare sector experience, and/or Leadership experience and advanced financial modeling skills.License or Certification Type: null null

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of commercial banking experience underwriting
  • Strong financial modeling/analysis, memo writing, debt structuring, negotiation, and closing skills with the ability to engage and build trust with clients independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of portfolio management practices including expertise in evaluating risk and managing changing situations.

The base pay for this position is generally between $150,000-$200,000 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
