Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant assists the Controller in all aspects of month end closing procedures including journal entries, revenue billings, reconciliations and preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting package. The Staff Accountant provides financial reports and analysis to leadership as requested and appropriate. Additionally, the Staff Accountant serves as a local contact for all financial-related questions. The Staff Accountant is required to provide quality information on a timely basis, maintain a working knowledge of accounting regulatory requirements and guidelines and assist leadership with both routine processes and special projects.

The Staff Accountant should work well under direct and indirect supervision, planning and arranging work independently according to deadlines and should effectively communicate all updated priorities, challenges and resource needs.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Prepares and keys all journal entries.
• Completes all account reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Compiles and performs initial review of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Updates and maintains information in the Fixed Asset System.
• Assists with completing all revenue billings.
• Is prepared and able to answer questions related to team member payroll, accounts payable, and tax to be able to direct team members to other System resources as needed.
• Prepares financial reports as requested by Leadership.
• Compiles financial and/or statistical data and performs analytical analysis as requested by Leadership.
• Assists in gathering data for budget and flux developments.
• Assists in gathering data related to the year-end financial audit, cost report and various tax filings.
• Assists in gathering data for annual reports including disclosures and surveys as directed by Leadership.
• Works with other team-members, as requested, on special projects and analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related and 1+ years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA or related field.
• 3-4 years of experience.
• Proficient in Deltek, FloQast and Government applications.
• Excellent interactive, communication and people skills.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000
