Title: Advanced Control & Optimization Associate
Location: Lake Jackson, TX

Schedule: 5-8 or 9/80
Relocation Available

Focus: The Advanced Control & Optimization Associate is responsible for value creation through implementation and maintenance of AC&O installations globally. The role coordinates between capital projects, Process Tech Centers, plants and PA Tech Center.

The role is seen as company expert and technical leader which provides expert knowledge on advanced control technologies practiced as well as guidance and direction for plant PA teams.

Advanced Control & Optimization Associate Essential Responsibilities:

  • Works with plant teams, PA Improvement Leads and Process Tech Centers to identify and evaluate advanced control opportunities
  • Develops code or leads projects to implement AC where value-added and defines KPIs to measure value. Updates models as business objects and drivers change. Interfaces with OT Associates and Application Associates
  • Monitors the status and utilization of existing AC implementations to ensure maximum online time and defines technology/version upgrade needs
  • Troubleshoots problems with Advanced Control installations and assists plant with changes
  • Performs training for plant personnel on use and function of the AC applications. Provides continuity to ensure proper knowledge transition at plant level
  • Keeps up with new external technology developments and optimizes licensing strategies. Technical Interface to suppliers as client representative

Advanced Control & Optimization Associate Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree* in a scientific or engineering discipline; chemical engineering, IT, or process automation-related discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant process automation, manufacturing or improvement experience.
  • Experience with Advanced Control & Optimization solutions (e.g. Aspen DMC3, Emerson DeltaV PredictPro, DeltaV Insight).
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills across businesses, functions, organizational layers, and cultures.
  • Proven ability to work under general direction and broad practices with complex tasks of non-routine character.
  • Excellent judgment and calculated risk-taking abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and possess a valid US Driver's License.
  • Prior Olin experience in a related role preferred.

*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
