Description

As a subject matter expert, the MCS Specialist will provide day-to-day support to the AAAS MemberCentral Support team, in accordance with established policies and procedures; including maintaining and updating documentation and processes as required. This position will report to the Assistant Director, MemberCentral Support and primary focus will be related to supporting the data entry, financial, returned mail and other off the phone activities.

What You'll Do



  • Analyzes processes and makes recommendations to processes, messaging, and service delivery
  • Provides input and documents processes and policies associated with delivering world class member and customer support
  • Ensures all relevant job aids/documentations meet required deliverables to support all acquisition and retention needs. This includes processes related to premium fulfillment, returned mail and other campaign specific needs
  • Acts as a liaison between MemberCentral Support with both Internal and External Partners
  • As a Subject Matter Expert for data entry, is responsible for providing support to our associates, and to the Agency, Institutions and Bulk programs
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes the incoming membership and subscription mail
  • Batches orders in preparation for keying, verifying the totals match the amounts keyed into the database
  • Enters orders and payments in accordance with established procedures and requirements for accuracy and speed
  • Examines order documents for completeness and correctness of data
  • Responsible for processing and responding to various financial transactions
  • Prioritizes work assignments, working pro-actively and managing multiple tasks
  • Other duties as assigned, such as the BPA Audit.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor degree preferred, with 3+ years of experience in customer or professional membership support
  • Preferred MemberCentral Support experience for AAAS
  • Committed to high quality service delivery and problem resolution
  • Professional, articulate demeanor, proficient phone etiquette and strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, but independently, on assigned responsibilities


  • Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational prioritization skills
  • High energy, positive attitude, self-motivated, able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • High sense of integrity and respect for others - Externally and Internally
  • Computer skills; work processing; Excel and database skills required; Advantage and Salesforce software preferred

The anticipated initial rate of compensation for the MembeerCentral Support Specialist position working in the United States is $55,000 per year. AAAS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, each subject to the terms of the applicable program. Additional benefits may apply.
