What you'll do:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Shared Services accounting department with a broad range of accounting responsibilities and functions to maintain the integrity of the company's financial records. Responsibilities include activities related to general accounting, fixed asset management, account reconciliations and various month-end Close items.

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office/2 days remote

Core Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Journal Entries.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial Close periods.
  • Maintain intercompany reports and communications.
  • Review general ledger accounts, with the ability to identify and prepare any necessary adjusting journal entries.
  • Perform various balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations, with emphasis on intercompany accounts, prepaid expense accounts, and PP&E.
  • Maintain Construction in Progress and Fixed asset schedules, including F/A set-up, monthly depreciation, and communications related to approved asset spend.
  • Assist with field work for internal and external financial audits.
  • Assist with and/or prepare miscellaneous internal and external reports.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Systems (such as Plex), and Consolidations systems (OneStream).
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks and reports as may be required.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance with emphasis in accounting is required, CPA preferred
  • 0-2+ years of accounting experience, private, industry, or corporate, is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial data, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Office and highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Must have very good analytical communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must have good problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Must be a disciplined, confidential, critical thinker, who works well with others.
  • Must have an excellent work ethic and the flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet strict deadlines, when required.
