Are you looking for a new challenge? For our location Charleston we are looking for a(n) Chemical Operator - Physical Analytics D Shift.

Chemical Technicians for Physical Analytics process in-line and production samples from across the Wacker Charleston site to provide data regarding the purity of our product to internal and external customers. Technicians harvest samples from tabletop reactors in a laboratory setting, process the samples for measurement and then measure the contaminant levels of samples using state-of-the-art tabletop spectrometers. As a process laboratory, Physical Analytics is connected directly to our internal customers and technicians perform shift inspections of these connections, as well as equipment in the laboratory and throughout the building.

Job Responsibilities:

* Perform regular chemical operator production duties which include; monitoring, controlling, and documenting production flow and processing steps as well as manual operation of valves and other equipment. Other duties and tasks as assigned.
* Work in a laboratory and clean room environment.
* Responsible for coordinating, conducting and documenting team member training with the training coordinator. Mentors new Chemical Operators and Technicians during the onboarding period. Help lead field assessment evaluations for new Chemical Operators and Technicians.
* Assist the Shift Lead with the development of chemical operator and technician work plans and provide team leadership to groups of chemical operators and technicians in the field.
* Serve as the Deputy at times the Shift Lead is unavailable or away from the site. Support the Shift Lead during upset system conditions by taking appropriate action in alignment with shift, management and emergency response. Deputy activities in the Control Room while Lead is in the field (SWP permitting, etc.)
* Cooperate with other qualified staff in scheduling and coordinating servicing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Report on production issues, provide feedback to technical staff, contact appropriate personnel when additional expertise is required.
* Ensure a clean and safe work area; maintain high standards for housekeeping and organization.
* Continuously evaluate processes and deliver solutions to increase safety, efficiency, productivity, consistency, data integrity, and ease of use.

Qualifications Required:

* Associates degree or Chem Op certificate
* Vocational/Technical Training preferred
* 2+ years of Chemical Operator Experience
* 3+ years of professional experience in a technical/production environment.
* Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, coaching and counseling.
* Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
* Ability to take charge, stabilize, and manage in an unexpected or emergency situation.
* Computer skills required (Microsoft office, SAP preferred).
* Have proven technical and mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
* Be a team player with the desire to coach others (preferred candidates will have prior supervisory experience).
* Teamwork skills with safety and environmental consciousness required.
* Good communication skills required.
* Be able to work any shift (including 12-hour shifts and/or rotating shifts) necessary to support a 24/7 operation.
* Be able to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) if necessary.
* Familiarity with piping and instrumentation diagrams.
* Must pass pre-employment testing.
* Safety, detail, and quality oriented.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
