Position Overview

The HR Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business areas. This position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of By Light. The HRBP maintains a high level of literacy about HR best practices and the assigned business areas.

This position has a hybrud schedule requiring the ability to be onsite 2-3 days/week.



Responsibilities

    Operate as both a strategic and operational business partner performing full life cycle human resources support within the business, through the planning and execution of HR practices and programs.
  • Partner with all management levels to drive business results that optimize talent, structure, process and culture.
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve every day issues and develop short and long term HR. strategies and solutions designed to achieve optimal departmental performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner and coach managers on effectively engaging employees and addressing employee relations issues.
  • Act as a change agent for key business changes and as an advocate in the communication of HR changes.
  • Act as primary POC for employees and managers on assigned contracts and provide excellent customer service with a focus on responsiveness.
  • Use data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to management.
  • Support and execute the strategic direction of HR, including implementation of high-value added HR processes that support business goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify performance improvements and initiate positive changes in HR practices; creatively address problem solving to provide solutions that support superior customer service
  • Ability to handle HR situations and information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field or equivalent experience plus 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding and wide application of technical HR principles, theories and concepts, as well as HR best practices.
  • Comprehension of US employment law, federal and state laws, with special emphasis on California law and government contracting compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative with minimal supervision and exercise strong prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • ADP experience a plus.
  • Experience within the government contracting industry highly preferred.
  • PHR certification highly preferred.
