Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Location: Nellis Air Force Base, NV 89191

Duration: Long Term

Shift: 7:30-4:30 (Clinic)/06:30-3:30 (OR as scheduled) (Mon-Fri)


Education & Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C), or Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved).
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocess or preferred but not required.


Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years surgical scrub experience in an accredited healthcare facility.
  • Familiarity with robotic procedures preferred.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, inspect, and manage surgical instruments and supplies for colorectal, general surgery, plastics, trauma, and robotic procedures.
  • Maintain sterile environment and assist in patient positioning and anesthesia administration.
  • Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes and surgical equipment per guidelines.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during surgical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain inventory, clean procedure rooms, and support administrative tasks including patient scheduling and record keeping.
  • Educate staff on robotic systems and participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.


Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, asepsis, sterile techniques, infection control, and surgical pharmacology.
  • Skilled in handling surgical and diagnostic equipment, including Da Vinci robotic system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare team and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Basic computer proficiency for healthcare documentation.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and assist with patient positioning throughout the day.
  • Manual dexterity for handling instruments and equipment in a fast-paced OR environment
