Position Description

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking an INFOSEC/Cybersecurity Specialist (Level 1) to provide senior-level technical leadership and strategic cybersecurity engineering expertise to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Cybersecurity Group within the NAS Security and Enterprise Operations (NASEO) Directorate. This position is responsible for leading the design, integration, and oversight of enterprise-scale cybersecurity solutions and toolsets that safeguard the National Airspace System (NAS) from advanced and emerging threats. The selected candidate will serve as a primary technical authority, guiding the development and sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity tools for asset management, threat modeling, and program-wide integration. Responsibilities include directing and performing high-level risk assessments, ensuring that enterprise and system architectures meet or exceed FAA and federal security standards, and providing authoritative recommendations for mitigating complex security risks. The role will also oversee secure data repositories, manage access controls, and ensure the seamless integration of cybersecurity processes across all operational domains. Additional duties include leading the development of technical documentation, policies, and executive-level briefings; advising senior FAA leadership on cybersecurity strategies; mentoring technical teams; and providing direction during high-impact incident response, compliance evaluations, and operational readiness efforts.

Qualifications Required




  • Bachelor's degree in a related information technology field (may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience)



  • 20+ years of experience (Master's degree may substitute for 3 years; PhD may substitute for 7 years)



  • Possess any industry-recognized certification relevant to the required work (Security+, CISSP, CISM, etc.)



  • In-depth knowledge of NIST SP 800-series publications and FIPS standards



  • Extensive experience in security tool development, integration, and lifecycle management, including asset management and threat modeling solutions



  • Advanced proficiency in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and remediation tracking in alignment with FAA and federal standards



  • Demonstrated ability to advise executives, lead multidisciplinary teams, and manage high-impact cybersecurity initiatives in a mission-critical environment



  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)




Qualifications Desired




  • Experience working with the FAA ATO



  • Background in incident response leadership for complex, multi-agency cybersecurity events



  • Experience with federal cybersecurity programs or other high-security mission-critical environments



  • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity practices such as cloud security, Zero Trust, and supply chain risk management



  • Active SECRET security clearance
