Job Title: Test Invigilator / Test Proctor / Administrator ( Part Time )

Duration: Contract 6 + Months

Shift Hours: Part Time (7am- 2:30pm Thu and Fri)

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Location: Philadelphia, PA 19124

Pay Rate: $22 Per Hr/ W2

Job Description:

  • Confirm that all training references or displays on walls, bulletin boards, or other locations that can be viewed and provide any assist to an Examinee are removed or out of sight.
  • Confirm that the test room has a conducive testing environment with sufficient seating for a maximum of 15 simultaneous testers
  • Confirm that a maximum of 15 Examinee computer monitors are in one Proctor's line of site from a single proctoring location within the test room.
  • Verify the lockdown browser is in use and only the ITS On Board screen is displayed after logging on using the credentials provided.


Before Testing:

  • Confirm that each Examinee has government issued photo identification (ID) or issued ID in their possession and hands it to you for inspection.
  • If the Examinee does not have a government issued photo ID or issued ID or they appear invalid (e.g., expired driver's license), the Examinee must be dismissed from staying and taking part in any OQ testing.
  • Hand each Examinee the Enhanced OQ Examinee Agreement and ask the Examinees to read it before they sign the Enhanced OQ Examinee Agreement Sign-in Sheet.
  • Confirm that each Examinee has filled-in the OQ Examinee Agreement Sign-in Sheet completely with printed name, signature and company affiliation.
  • If an Examinee does not wish to sign the OQ Examinee Agreement Sign-in Sheet, then they must be dismissed from staying and taking part in any OQ testing and the appropriate Manager of Labor for their department notified or Contractor Supervisor (if employee works for one of PGW's Contractors).
  • Distribute the Classroom Instruction and Handout sheet and read the instructions to the Examinees. Among other things, it sets the expectations for Examinee behavior.
  • If these classroom instructions are not followed either individually or collectively, you are instructed to contact the Department Manager, or his designee, for guidance resolution - which may result in testing failure of an individual or the entire class.
  • Ask the Examinees if they have any questions on the instructions you just read.
  • Confirm that Examinees did not bring in any writing utensils or paper into the testing area.
  • Confirm that all cell phones, iPods, pagers, tablets, watches, or other personal electronic devices are powered off, stored away and not visible at any time during the OQ testing session.



During Testing:

  • Except for Training Staff or Executives, confirm no one other than Examinees are present during the OQ testing session.
  • Only a Proctor will authorize each test by entering his/her Proctor's username and password at the appropriate prompt.
  • Proctor login information is confidential and will not be shared with another Proctor or Examinees.
  • When logging in the Examinee to start their test, ask the Examinee to turn his/her head away from the keyboard/monitor in order not to compromise the Proctor user name/password.
  • Note the OQ test session start time on the Examinees Agreement Sign-in Sheet.
  • Observe Examinees and their computer monitors to ensure test integrity without being too obtrusive.
  • If an Examinee requires a writing utensil or paper, the Examinee will raise his/her hand and make the request for you to provide a company supplied #2 lead pencil and one sheet of white paper which will be provided by the company. Confirm the paper is blank before providing these items to the Examinee.
  • Confirm that Examinees do not leave the room before completing a test and are logged off the ITS website.
  • Bathroom breaks for Examinees are only permitted upon completion of a test.
  • Bathroom breaks for Proctors shall be limited and Examinees must be patient with the Proctor
  • Other than an evacuation triggered by a building emergency, if an Examinee insists on leaving the test room for any reason prior to completing an active test and logging-out, the PGW Proctor will close the Examinees test which will result in a failing grade.
  • Do not assist any Examinee with explaining or answering any question on the test.
  • When an Examinee wants to begin a new test, the Examinee must raise his/her hand to attain your attention in order for you to authorize the new test. Examinees should be discouraged from making any noises that may disturb other Examinees.
  • In those cases where the Examinee achieved a minimum passing score of 80% on a completed OQ test, the Examine will review the displayed incorrect test answers before starting a new test or leaving the test room for the day. Again, the Examinee is precluded from taking any notes.


Following Testing:

  • Confirm each Examinee has logged out of the ITS website or application prior to leaving the testing area for the day.
  • If you provided an Examinee with a #2 lead pencil and one sheet of white paper, you will retrieve the Examinee's pencil and used paper, with the used paper placed under your control and removed from the premises.
  • Leave a copy of the Examinees Agreement Sign-In Sheet(s).
  • Inspect the test room and collect any materials left behind by the Examinees or you.
