Title: Global Reliability Maintenance SME Location: Lake Jackson, TX
Salary: $150,000-$200,000 Schedule: 9/80 or 5-8s Relocation Available Focus: The Global Reliability Maintenance SME is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the reliability of plant operations through institutionalizing key reliability fundamentals across the enterprise. This role brings execution expertise of the maintenance engineering function and those related key reliability fundamentals. This includes oversight and ownership of a corporate maintenance work process and systems. This position is the manufacturing business owner and thus provides manufacturing input for the SAP Plant Maintenance module and all related interconnections with non-SAP software. Global Reliability Maintenance SME Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized Maintenance Work Processes and Procedures through training, mentoring, and metric analysis.
- Collaborate across various COE groups, R&M Leaders of the different sites, operations, turnaround, capital project workstreams to ensure effectiveness of maintenance execution across all sites.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly communicate effectiveness of maintenance against KPIs and metrics and complete this through various levels and networks to drive consistency, institutionalizing best practices.
- Develop critical training for the maintenance engineering function that aligns with the Reliability and Maintenance work processes roles and responsibilities.
- Actively facilitate cross-functional and cross-site workshops training, developing, and mentoring individuals in the maintenance engineering function.
- Participate in capital and expense project design reviews and provide technical guidance from the vantage point of maintainability of the assets, including the selection of technologies, installation methods, detailed specifications, and materials of construction.
- Provide multi-faceted discipline troubleshooting support for complex or difficult plant issues, and at times lead or participate in RCI's (Root Cause Investigations), plant technical reviews, and audits.
Global Reliability Maintenance SME Minimum Requirements:
- Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree* in engineering with a minimum of 15+ years of reliability engineering or maintenance experience within chemical manufacturing or a related industry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 20+ years of progressive experience and demonstrated technical and program leadership expertise in a focus area of manufacturing assets.
- Professional certifications in reliability engineering (e.g., CMRP, CRE, SMRP) preferred.
- Demonstrated success in implementing reliability programs and achieving measurable improvements in operational performance.
- Proficiency in reliability fundamentals such as PM/PdM, RCA, FMEA, SIC, Maintenance Work Process, and effective mechanical integrity systems that support asset life cycle management.
- Sound technical knowledge and application in a particular engineering field, with experience across all other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural).
- Familiarity with owner and industry standards and practices related to materials of construction (e.g., NACE, API, ASME).
- Ability to work independently on complex projects. Strong leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with industry reliability software and tools (e.g., Prometheus APM, Apollo RCFA, reliability modeling). Proficiency with SAP PM module.
- Proficiency with Power BI or other similar business intelligence tools.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 15%.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
