As a Senior Security Officer, you'll patrol and monitor numerous properties to provide safety and security to Sentry associates, visitors, and assets. You'll provide guidance to less experienced team members, train new hires, and review logs and reports to ensure accuracy and standard processes are followed. Analyze and lead responses to emergency situations and serve as first responder for all security, safety, and medical incidents within the building, and provide immediate medical support during incidents requiring certain immediate medical attention. Investigate any suspicious or unusual occurrences on Sentry property and ensures necessary reporting and follow up actions take place. You'll provide advanced level administration of Sentry's access control system ensuring individuals have the ability to enter appropriate areas and perform routine audits to ensure access is removed, and/or adjusted as necessary. You'll also work with Security management with providing Executive Protection as directed / requested.

We are currently looking for a Security Officer to assist our 2nd shift team from 2:30pm-10:30pm.

What You'll Do

As a Security Officer, you will:

  • Patrol and monitor interior and exterior of numerous premises to prevent and detect any risks to Sentry associates and property

  • Analyze and respond appropriately to emergency situations

  • Escalate risks appropriately based on the severity

  • Provide advanced administration of Sentry's access control system for all associates, contractors, and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment

  • Notify appropriate individuals or departments on any findings that compromise the security and protection of the property and individuals

  • Complete incident reports on any irregularities, such as equipment and property damage, safety and health issues, theft, presence of unauthorized individuals, and any other unusual occurrences.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additionally, you will:

  • Conduct regular inspections on fire extinguishers, fire valves, AED, door alarms, audible alarms, etc. to ensure all equipment is properly functioning.

  • Maintain lost & found, temporary keys, parcel, overnight parking, and other logs.

  • Provide secure courier services for various departments throughout Sentry, ensuring the safe delivery of sensitive items.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience

  • Previous medical or EMT experience preferred

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certification

  • Excellent driving record

  • Ability to react quickly and remain calm in sensitive situations

  • Excellent communication, observation and customer service skills
