Sr. Director of IT Job Description The Sr. Director of IT at the company will spearhead the company's IT strategy and ensure that technology solutions are aligned with the organization's operational goals and growth objectives. The Sr. Director of IT will oversee a team of IT professionals, including working with external Managed Service Providers, and will be deeply involved in day-to-day IT operations to ensure smooth execution of both current and future technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
IT Leadership
Define and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the client's business objectives, driving digital transformation and supporting operational growth.
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify technology opportunities that enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
Provide thought leadership on the application of new and emerging technologies (including AI) to create competitive advantages and streamline operations.
Oversee IT performance and report key metrics to leadership, focusing on risk management, infrastructure health, and cybersecurity resilience.
Risk Management & Cybersecurity
Develop and enforce a robust risk management framework for IT, ensuring systems are protected from cyber threats and regulatory compliance is met.
Collaborate with internal teams and third-party security vendors to design and maintain a cybersecurity strategy that safeguards the client's digital assets.
Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and audits to identify potential threats and ensure mitigation measures are in place.
Stay ahead of cybersecurity trends and ensure the organization adapts quickly to emerging security challenges.
IT Operations & Infrastructure Management
Oversee the day-to-day management of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, and databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Actively manage the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they support business growth and innovation.
Establish disaster recovery plans, data backups, and business continuity strategies to ensure the client's systems remain resilient in the face of disruptions.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor the IT team, providing hands-on support, direction, and coaching to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Work closely with the Managed Service Provider and internal teams to meet day-to-day IT needs and ensure seamless operations.
Set clear expectations, KPIs, and development goals for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
Project & Change Management
Drive the execution of IT projects from inception through completion, managing timelines, resources, budgets, and stakeholder alignment.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve the desired outcomes, particularly in the context of scalability and business agility.
Manage change within the IT environment, ensuring smooth integration of new systems, processes, and technologies with minimal disruption.
Vendor & Budget Oversight
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet the client's technology needs.
Oversee the IT budget, prioritizing investments in systems, infrastructure, and tools that drive operational efficiency and technological advancement.
