General Services Specialist

***This position requires an active SECRET clearance to be considered. ***

General Services Specialist works under General Supervision: The government provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating what needs to be accomplished, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. Additional, specific instructions provided for new, difficult, or unusual assignments. The contractor uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. The government assures that the work is technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for General Services Specialist: $98,383.13

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

General Services Specialist Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of post- high school education and experience with a

    minimum of four (4) years of general services/facility management experience.

  • State Department experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and carrying out projects to improve the efficiency and

    productivity of organizations and employees in administrative support activities or for

    established space management.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and/or interpret blueprints and floorplans.

  • Demonstrated communication skills in order to collaborate with colleagues and do business

    with suppliers and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a group or independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage several tasks effectively and simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret department policy, regulations, and directives.

  • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and be able to operate all office

    equipment including but not limited to: telephones, copy machines, fax machines, scanners,

    printers, and computers.

  • May be required to travel within domestic and/or international.

  • Requires at the minimum, a security clearance of Secret with the ability to obtain a Top

    Secret or Top Secret/SCI at the request of the COR.

General Service Specialist Duties:

  • Supports management with requested reports and generated charts.

  • Creates documents; prepares, edits, and assembles reports.

  • Develops solutions for management on a variety of facility related issues.

  • Develops and/or recommends policies and procedures for office usage and space

    assignments.

  • Develops project requirements in coordination with office management.

  • Ensures timely deliverables of project schedules and milestones.

  • Provides project status updates to office management.

  • Prepares requisitions and funding for work orders.

  • Provides inventory and property controls by means of tracking and securing all physical

    property.

  • Supports all aspects of moves to include people, furniture, and equipment.

  • Supports connectivity of telecommunication and computing infrastructure.

  • Supports facility issues that involve understanding technical drawing.

  • Supports logistic management for maintenance and repair services.

  • Supports the compliance of government safety requirements.
