As a S&T Research Chemist, you will work to support production and the development of new products for OLED materials. Expert in high resolution mass spectrometry who designs and carries out experiments independently. You will manage a dynamic workload to determine prioritization and manage resource capacity.

You will report to the Associate Manager, S&T Research and be based onsite in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Process Development Teams to steer product development using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry
  • Guide quality decisions within Production using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
  • Validate and improve liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for analysis of OLED small molecules.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
  • Prioritize projects and troubleshoot independently.
  • Communicate with business and technical collaborators to understand priorities and communicate findings.
  • Deliver quality results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate project ownership behavior.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure the lab follows safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or related discipline (Analytical Chemistry preferred) or master's degree with 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Previous experience applying Python programming to data analysis preferred.
