The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is one of the fastest growing programs at
UGA and one of the fastest growing public colleges of engineering in the nation. Since our founding in 2012, enrollment in the College of Engineering has grown to over 2,400 students. Position Summary |
The Marketing & Communications Specialist will provide support for the College of Engineering's marketing and communication efforts, including special support for UGA's Manufacturing Living Labs (
MLL) and the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility (
GNEM).
This staff position will:
- Design graphics and other visual elements that align with the university and college's brand identity to promote the developments in research and technology happening in the College of Engineering, MLL, and GNEM.
- Create promotional materials including banners, posters, brochures and flyers.
- Develop, write, and edit press releases, feature stories, newsletters, and social media posts
- Develop online marketing using social media channels.
- Participate in college, MLL, and GNEM events to promote and capture content material.
- Record, edit, and promote videos.
- Assist faculty and students with graphics for research publications and grant proposals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication, as well as proofreading and editing.
- Diverse technical skillset related to print and digital communication and production.
- Familiarity with social media outlets, online platforms, and digital marketing.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles including layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of digital accessibility and commitment to digital accessibility best practices.
- Strong computer skills with experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Identify and solve design problems creatively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
