Job Description:

Our site in Decatur, TX is seeking aCMM Programmerto join our team.

This position will support our graphite machining operations. This role is critical to ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality compliance through advanced inspection techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CMM programming, metrology, and quality systems, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday days

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Write, modify, and run CMM programs using PC-DMIS and Zone 3 software.
  • Operate and troubleshoot CMM equipment including Keyence, Hexagon, and OGP.
  • Store and manage CMM programs in accordance with applicable work instructions.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance for CMMs. Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs and manual tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.).
  • Determine product conformance based on CMM data and inspection criteria.
  • Support PPAPs, first article inspections, and internal investigations.
  • Assist in internal audits and maintain accurate documentation of inspection results.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and inspection personnel to optimize inspection methods.
  • Investigate and recommend new inspection technologies and methods.
  • Acquire and implement new inspection equipment to support production growth.
  • Develop and improve quality processes to reduce inspection cycle time.
  • Create detailed work instructions for CMM setup and operation.
  • Train and mentor less experienced staff in programming and measurement techniques.
  • Build and set up special test panels as needed for evaluation or testing.
  • Support data collection and analysis for MSA, capability studies, DOE, and Gage R&R.
  • Maintain inspection records and generate high-quality inspection reports using blueprints, CAD models, and verbal instructions.

WHAT WE SEEK:

  • 3+ years of experience in CMM programming and dimensional inspection.
  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS and/or Zone 3 software.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurement.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience in a graphite machining or similar precision manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and quality improvement tools.
