Job Title:Production Scheduler

Work Schedule: 1st shift

Location: P2 - Richmond, VA

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Production Scheduler who will provide administrative support to production department. Releases and distributes orders for assigned department. Performs daily production reporting.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Coordinates execution of department production schedule
  • Gathers and reviews data from manufacturing and support organizations, coordinates with capacity and material analysis to resolve material and capacity discrepancies that affect the schedule
  • Translates anticipated demand into production and purchase orders for internal and external suppliers
  • Attends production and planning meetings
  • Works closely with Customer Service Department, Purchasing Department, Production Department, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Shipping Department to ensure products are produced and shipped by schedule
  • Processes change notices
  • Fulfills replacement part orders
  • Monitors daily attendance
  • Completes daily MDI reports
  • Provides on-job-training for new hires
  • Participate in cross training program-train and be trained. Cross trains team members on processes and assists with production as needed.
  • Create purchase requisitions for department supplies as required using purchasing system
  • Performs safety inspections
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of experience in comparable roles.
  • PC proficiency is essential, experience with Microsoft Office products and MRP systems (AS400 preferred)
  • Ability to use MS Excel to analyze data and present in a meaningful manner

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements: (The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able tolift/pull/push 50 lbs.
  • Must be able tostand/sit/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours/day as needed per production area.
