The Senior Audio Operator oversees audio operations for PGA TOUR Studios live and recorded productions. This role requires advanced expertise in mixing, signal flow, and equipment management, along with strong leadership and teamwork. The operator ensures all audio meets professional standards for clarity, consistency, and reliability across dynamic broadcast and studio environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience in Television, Broadcasting, Communications or Journalism.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in audio production, with a focus on live broadcast, sports, or entertainment.

  • Expert-level proficiency with Calrec audio boards and RF coordination.

  • Strong understanding of broadcast standards, signal flow architecture, and intercom systems.

  • Proven leadership experience with technical teams in high-pressure environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous audio sources with speed and precision.

  • Familiarity with broadcast control rooms, studio floor audio setups, and communication systems preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Teamwork and communication skills; able to work closely with Directors, Technical Directors, Producers and talent.

  • Strong interest in golf preferred.

  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule which may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Lead complex audio mixing for live and taped productions, ensuring balanced, broadcast-safe output.

  • Set up and configure digital consoles, RF systems, IFB, comms, and routing infrastructure, including pre-show checks and post-show maintenance.

  • Design and manage advanced audio signal paths across platforms, adapting routing in real time to meet evolving production needs.

  • Troubleshoot critical audio issues during productions, resolving signal loss, interference, and equipment failures under pressure.

  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and technical teams to translate creative goals into effective sound design and mic strategy.

  • Maintain and optimize audio systems to ensure reliability and performance across diverse production environments.

  • Stay current with emerging audio technologies and industry trends, recommending upgrades to improve quality and workflow.

  • Ensure all audio operations comply with organizational standards and broadcast regulations.

  • Support special projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives as needed.
