Job Summary:

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is looking for a Plant Controller for our Structural facility in Hampton, VA. The selected person will act as a business partner to the management team, driving compliance, optimizing profitability and free cash flow. This position reports to the IGT Controller for the plant in question with a dotted line to the Business Unit Segment Controller and HSC Plant Manager.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities include but not limited to:



  • Identifying key levers to drive business improvement and providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities.
  • In partnership with plant leadership work on achieving targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability
  • Determining, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability.
  • Utilize strong understanding of manufacturing process to monitor risk and opportunities to meet forecast
  • Forecast, analyze and plan business results.
  • Ensure compliance with Howmet and business unit financial reporting requirements
  • Analyzing data for decision making and tracking performance progress.
  • Coordinate the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews.
  • Driving year over year cost reduction initiatives/step-change improvements.
  • Managing and implementing efficient and effective daily management/forecasting/budgeting systems, tools, and processes.
  • Review financial statements and account reconciliations with follow up and corrective action as needed.
  • Clear and concise communicating location results in comparison to forecast, plan and performance objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership for evaluation of projects, plans and investments.
  • Accountable for validity of location financial statements and representations.
  • Develop and follow standard work to ensure location, BU and Howmet Corporate deadlines are met.
  • Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner and promote a safe work environment.


Skills and abilities:



  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • High proficiency in using MS Office software, experience in using queries, including Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/high intensity environment.
  • Strong cost and Bill of Material Cost Accounting experience.
  • Ability to dig for details and work on challenging projects.
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present forecast and monthly performance results to plant and BU leadership.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial personnel.

Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years related finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
