The Role:

Our team supplies critical materials to the ultra-high purity semiconductor market. Our technology enables the latest chip technology and its applications, including IoT, AI, machine learning and 5G. Specifically, we make products that filter and purify process chemistries used in semi processing. Demand for our products is rising rapidly and we are looking for someone who can help us meet the needs of our customers.

As part of Entegris' 24/7 Manufacturing Operations team, the Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering will work closely with the production team to drive initiatives to increase output, reduce scrap and rework, eliminate waste, improve overall efficiency, and ensure quality and safety are built into processes at every step.

This position is a flexible 1st shift position. Some weekend days may be required.

What you'll do:

  • Support the 24/7 manufacturing operations including occasional phone support on evenings and weekends.

  • Develop, lead and implement projects which improve operational efficiency and deliver improvements which support corporate objectives such as: on-time delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, uptime, cost savings, etc.

  • Maintain presence in the cleanroom manufacturing area to provide sustaining manufacturing support. Resolve day to day production/process issues. Drives issues to root cause.

  • Will be area owner in annealing and work closely with operators, other engineers, R&D, NPI and quality team.

  • Periodically stay late to provide training and hands-on support with night shift until around 7 or 8 pm approximately 1-2 times/month (can shift hours to compensate for additional support).

  • Cross-train in other UPE manufacturing areas and cross-train other engineers in annealing. Be able to provide coverage for other process lines when process owners are out or may need additional perspectives.

  • Troubleshoot annealing process and equipment issues and drive preventative actions.

  • Maintain a safe workplace by submitting observations, participating in JSAs, and ensuring the correct PPE is always worn.

  • Complete process, uptime, footage, and yield documentation to maintain an accurate history of annealing including daily logs.

  • Improve maturity of process data and apply statistical methods to develop a deeper understanding of our process with the goal of achieving higher yields and efficiency - prepare data analysis and slides at least twice per month for SPC review, ideally weekly.

  • Work with operators to maintain correct, single data files for process information.

  • Support the development of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, standard work, problem solving, value stream mapping, training, and employee involvement - through CCMBs/MOCs, TQCNs, ECRs, etc.

  • Apply manufacturing best practices to drive safety, quality, reliability and predictability into everything we do

  • Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information and develop and implement process solutions

  • Assist in directing and controlling processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures including maintaining Camline charts

  • Support overall UPE projects and growth through capacity improvements, equipment and process qualifications, and coordinating with R&D for new product qualifications.

  • Some travel may be required for supporting UPE operations in other plants (<10%)

What we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, preferred.

  • 2-6 years experience working in a manufacturing or clean room environment

  • Motivated and self-directed team player with good interpersonal skills

  • Must have ability to reach out, communicate and influence personnel at all levels within the organization

  • Demonstrated hands on problem solving utilizing good engineering principles
