Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Referral Laboratory team as a part-time technician at our main hospital campus in La Crosse, WI.Phlebotomists, Lab Techs, C.N.A.s, PCTs, CMAs, or other individuals that have an interest in working in a laboratory are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do:

The Referral Laboratory department handles all specimens that must be sent to another institution/facility for diagnostic testing. As a Laboratory Support Technician in our Referral Lab, you will play a crucial role in the lab by completing referral laboratory-specific test request forms, verifying patient information and ensuring accurate labeling of specimens, accessioning and processing of the sample(s) according to the instructions of the testing facility, preparing and packaging specimens for transportation, adhering to quality control procedures to maintain the integrity of specimens and test results, and matching of diagnostic testing reports to upload results to the patient's record. Your attention to detail, knowledge of laboratory procedures, and ability to provide excellent customer service will contribute to the overall success of our organization.

What's Available:

  • Part-time, 64 hours biweekly (0.8 FTE). Will orientate full-time for 5-6 weeks

  • 8hr day shifts (starting between 6:30a to 8a) and every other Saturday. No evenings, nights, holidays, or Sundays required

  • Typically will be scheduled to start at 7a on Saturday and will stay until work is completed

  • Starting pay of $17.54 per hour and up, based on your years of experience

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • A copy of the applicant's/employee's diploma and/or transcript as confirmation of the education requirement must be provided at time of hire

  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Prior laboratory experience preferred
