Job Summary

Responsible for Supply Chain Inventory Control for a designated area of the health system, including monitoring standardized system-developed supply chain strategic plans and policies, supervising designated inventory control practices and functions (Inventory Management, Warehousing, Pars, JIT, LUM, POU, Implant Management), and providing leadership to selected Inventory Control team members. Leads process improvement initiatives and ensures high quality, timely execution.

Essential Functions

  • Provides day-to-day supervision of department staff which includes training, development, scheduling work, monitoring performance to ensure compliance with guidelines, policies, and procedures, and providing feedback on performance.

  • Works with Supply Chain staff to implement a system-wide inventory strategy, aiming to reduce obsolete inventory, improve inventory turnover, and enhance replenishment processes.

  • Works with onsite Supply Chain leadership to ensure appropriate delivery systems such as Low Unit of Measure (LUM), Just in Time (JIT), and/or point of use type systems are evaluated and wherever possible implemented in a standardized and consistent manner.

  • Coordinates physical inventory and cycle counts as needed. Assists in researching and reconciling any variance between physical and system counts.

  • Leads the conversion process, ensuring a smooth implementation process.

  • Prepares reports of periodic count statistics for management.

  • Performs special inventory research/projects as assigned by leadership.

  • Performs inventory adjustments as dictated by policy and investigates the reasons for the variance. Provides recommendations to leadership for corrective actions.

  • Utilizes standardized system-wide dashboard analytics to track inventory levels, ensure proper inventory controls, and monitor key performance measures in supply chain operations to ensure they are measured, monitored, and goals are met.

  • Conducts regular meetings and rounds with clinical representatives to ensure the Inventory Control team functions effectively.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a supervisor job which may have direct supervision of team members which may include hire/termination authority, disciplinary authority, and performance management responsibilities.May have budget input or responsibilities. Job is not considered a member of management staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field of study.

  • Experience - Three (3) yearsof Supply Chain or customer service experience. One (1) year healthcare materials experience preferred.

In Lieu Of

  • In Lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, a high school diploma with seven (7) years of supply chain experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of supply chain requirements in healthcare environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and comprehensive knowledge of ERP software capabilities.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Facilitation skills. Ability to rapidly summarize information and present it to others.
