Your Role on Our Team:

Reports to: Manager Manufacturing

Purpose of the Position: Milwaukee Tool's commitment to culture is defined by its people. The Supervisor position is responsible for leading a strong Operation's team in attaining all Safety, Cultural, and Productivity targets. The Supervisor is tasked with setting a high standard for team morale and ensuring that clear communication is upheld within Operations. They shall collaborate with all departments to ensure daily work requirements are completed to our customers' expectations. The position has the responsibility of prioritizing issues escalated by the operation's team; and is a key stakeholder in driving root cause & corrective action. This position is an advocate for the staff they oversee and shall drive initiatives aimed at continuously improving our people and our processes.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Operation's staff to achieve production requirements while meeting all safety, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Lead the training of team members in packaging processes, supporting the development of everyone and the shift. Effectively motivate and coach to quality and productivity expectations.
  • Own Warehouse Management System functions to coordinate consistent material flow for uninterrupted production; collaborate with all departments to identify and resolve any obstacles that hinder production.
  • Perform all related supervisory and human resource functions in a necessary timeframe (weekly timecard management and approval, attendance actions, incident reports, bi-annual performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Proactively support all operational Continuous Improvement efforts through hands-on participation in CI Projects, fostering innovation, eliminating inefficiencies, and promoting a culture of sustained improvement.
  • Conduct evaluations of shift production output and employee skill levels through direct observation and performance analysis. Recommend and participate in corrective action measures.
  • Collaborate in creating and refining work instructions while driving process development initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and standardization.
  • Drive positive, proactive, and consistent communication and follow-up throughout all operational departments. Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate relevant plant information, serving as the key point of contact and communication for the shift.
  • Foster a high degree of morale among team members, including providing feedback, recognition, and rewards.
  • Participate in personnel hiring and disciplinary action.
  • Set-up machines, workstations, and related equipment to ensure daily production. Instruct employees on operation. Responsible for following protocols in the correct opening & closing of the PGH facility.
  • Lead adherence to PGH Safety Program.
  • Lead by example by engaging in and participating in all core-operational functions, Lending support when the shift is shorthanded in any one area. Developing skills in all areas on the job to be better suited in identifying improvement opportunities and having the ability to back up any operational position.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager, including any of the duties that the position supervises.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Experience/Education requirements: 3+ years of demonstrated leadership within the PGH Operation, or other relevant leadership experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Previous supervisory level of production, assembly or packaging related experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of packaging, distribution and business concepts.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with demonstrated leadership, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS office with previous experience using SAP preferred.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Lifting objects of 50 pounds required throughout shift.
  • Repeatedly load boxes.
  • Lift safely into shipping boxes.
  • Requires standing and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Use of small and large motor skills throughout entire shift.
  • Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks Ability to work effectively in a non-temperature-controlled facility, enduring warm conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
  • Ability to understand and follow appropriate safety procedures.
