I. POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to process quality fiber optic bundles and imaging systems while adhering to prescribed standards.

This role is Monday to Thursday, 5:00AM-3:30PM. (4 Day Week, 10 hour Shifts)

II. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

* High school diploma, or equivalent experience.

* 2-4 years of experience assembling precision medical products and machinery. Ability to operate simple to moderately complicated machinery.

* Has substantial understanding of fiber optic bundle processing, or proficient with multiple moderately complex imaging assemblies

* This position involves inventory tracking and control of large and diverse amounts of material, organizational skills are essential.

* Strong knowledge of math and ability to apply that knowledge to the basic reading of blueprints and the use of basic measuring tools such as rules, micrometers and verniers.

* Ability to read, understand and apply the information contained in written procedures and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).

* Ability to meet takt time and quality standards.

* Must have the ability to work with adhesives, solvents, microscopes, small hand and power tools, measurement devices and other related tools and equipment.

* Must be able to work well with coworkers.

* Computer literacy and experience with common applications.

* Prior clean room experience desired.

III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Must be able to work overtime as needed.

* Must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned.

* May be required to lift as much as 10 lbs from the floor to tabletop level.

* Keen vision and the ability to pay close attention to details.

* Ability to perform detailed assembly work with a microscope for extended periods.

* Must be able to climb stairs.

* This position requires the individual to work in a Class 1000 cleanroom environment, including full cleanroom garb, and abide by company and department policy regarding cleanroom practices (i.e. no cosmetics or perfumes).

* Must be able to wear gloves or finger cots.

* It is not expected that this role will require driving as part of this job.

B. MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

* The importance of organization skills to this position cannot be overstated. This position incorporates tasks that are central to the efficient operation of the department. Large amounts of material are processed and need to be handled in a manner that maintains lot tractability and process deviation history.

* Endurance to continue producing high quality work in the face of constant workload.

* Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly.

* Must make decisions that affect coworkers and product quality.

* Ability to read English and understand SOP's and manufacturing procedures.

C. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the position and/or the goals and objectives of the department may be assigned.)

* All employees are expected to be knowledgeable about and follow the Company's Equal Employment and Affirmative Action Policies, including policies on the rights of individuals with disabilities and harassment.

* The specific duties of this position include but are not limited to: loading image bundles into glass tubes for grinding and polishing (hot air gun operation), operating a small cut-off saw, inspecting image bundles under a microscope and on a TV monitor and etching.

* Moderately difficult assemblies/processing of various intricate optical and mechanical components for imaging systems.

* In compliance with established procedures, the position requires the completion of all tracking, inventory, processing, and safety documentation.

* Applies substantial understanding of image processing to perform a wide range of tasks.

* Quantity of units produced should correspond to the time standards

* Load/unload ovens.

* Responsible for following prescribed processing techniques and within assigned time standards to produce quality imagers while meeting productivity guidelines.

* Ability to perform five or more tasks efficiently of the following: all functions of a Processor II as well as extrusion operations, Bundle processing etch in/out, Setup and

draw singles, operations and maintenance, extruder processing and ability to build select mufti's independently.

* Understand the process flow on assigned tasks (suppliers/customers) and the impact of their decisions.

* Actively participate in company sponsored training programs.

* Ability to cross train in other value stream processes as needed.

* Aware of practices and processes utilizing current management tools.

D. ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY:

* Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety laws and regulations, including the Company's environmental and safety policies and procedures. Must be willing to report actual and potential environmental and safety violations to appropriate supervisory and/or management personnel.

* The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as they relate to ISO 14001.

* Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety of himself/herself or others.

* Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties.

* The individual is explicitly responsible to read, understand, and follow all MSDSs and procedures.

* Must conduct numerous cleaning operations with solvents.

* Must work in close proximity to moderate strength acids and strong bases, which, if handled improperly, could pose a significant safety hazard or production disruption. Thus, the incumbent must acquire a basic understanding of chemicals and chemical safety. He/she will be required to handle materials treated or exposed to acid; however, will not be required to mix acids or bases.

* The incumbent is explicitly prohibited from handling hydrofluoric acid (HF).

E. QUALITY

* The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 (current revisions).

F. INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

* Must be able to maintain productive working relationships with co-workers.

* Must treat fellow employees with respect.

* Individual must daily communicate with coworkers to inform others of work status.

* Must have neat and legible handwriting to produce daily production records.

* Individual should proactively communicate with management suggesting ways to improve products and processes.

* A high degree of task rotation is conducted within the department; therefore, it is imperative that the incumbent communicates thoroughly and clearly regarding the status of various tasks with co-workers and the department manager.

* Given this high degree of interaction, integrity and personal responsibility will greatly facilitate the efficient operation of the department.

IV. OTHER FUNCTIONS

* Produce and maintain production records.

* Notify proper personnel regarding manufacturing materials performance and stock levels.

* Properly complete all required production documents.

* Clean and maintain personal and general work areas.

* Acid neutralization.

* Daily cleaning duties.

* Ability to support a flexible work environment and frequently change work area, department and task with ease.

* Maintain Training Certification in a variety of tasks within the Imaging Team
