Position Overview:



Albany Engineered Composites is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Systems Intern to support our Research & Technology (R&T) Program Management team. This internship offers hands-on experience in project coordination, documentation, and process improvement, with a unique opportunity to manage a small IRAD (Independent Research and Development) program.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Support program managers in tracking project timelines, deliverables, for R&T programs
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as project plans, status updates, and meeting notes
  • Support the creation of standardized procedures and reports
  • Investigate into past project results for use in informing future resource planning

  • Take ownership of a small program, selected during the internship, and oversee its execution



  • Contribute to updating PM department practices by investigating trends and outcomes from past projects

Qualifications / Characteristics:



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or business, expressing interest in both the technical and business aspects of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with SAP, and/or Microsoft project a strong plus


Working Conditions:



Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.



Physical requirements:



  • Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
  • Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
  • Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc
