Summary: This position is responsible for developing and managing global supplier sourcing strategies for non-operational goods and services to achieve cost savings and supplier performance targets.


Key responsibilities include cost management, strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, business process and technology development, supplier quality and development, contract negotiations and management, and supplier relations. The role involves collaboration with various departments such as operations, finance, and legal and continual embedding of the Company culture.


Responsibilities:



  • Create, implement and drive commodity sourcing strategies for all indirect spend areas across the Company to deliver cost savings, quality improvements and supplier risk mitigation.
  • Lead and manage a small team of sourcing professionals including hiring, work allocation, training, development and problem resolution to build a supportive and inclusive culture.
  • Spearhead key contract negotiations to optimize favorable terms, pricing, lead times, flexibility, and supply assurance to increase long term agreement penetration.
  • Manage and evaluate supplier relationships, conduct key supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze procurement spend and market data to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Finance, Engineering, IT, EH&S, Materials, Legal, etc. to align strategic sourcing objectives and implementation.
  • Participate in the development of standard work across the Company for indirect product categories.


Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience including at least 2 years owning a portfolio of commodities of significant scope and complexity within a similar operating environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in lean manufacturing skills and techniques.
  • Management or significant exposure to materials management systems, pricing, and information technology which support procurement and distribution operations.
  • An accomplished track record in delivering results on sourcing strategies and programs on a global basis, involving supplier partnership and alliance concepts.
  • Experience and familiarity with terminology and processes in Gas Turbine Component manufacturing is highly desired.
  • E-procurement, total cost modeling, and reverse auctioning experience is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel as required. This could exceed 50% periodically.
