Kurita has an immediate need for a Senior Equipment Applications Engineer Job Title: Senior Equipment Applications Engineer Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Comp: $125000 to $135000 Travel: Up to 49%
Responsibilities
Provide applications support and leadership for routine and complex water treatment applications, including the following:
- Membrane treatment system for various industrial and general water engineering applications
- Filtration of iron, manganese and other metals removal from various water sources
- Water softening and polishing
- Well and Surface water treatment processes
- PFAS removal and remediation
- Act as senior consultant regarding process applications for:
- Territory Managers
- Field Sales and Aftermarket Teams
- Consulting Engineers
- Others within Kurita America
- Special projects and process OFI's as assigned
- Support and assist with:
- Reviewing and annotating plans and specifications
- Equipment sizing and application
- Proposal generation and project estimating
- R&D efforts and new/standard product line development
- CAD modeling of system PFD's and/or water balance generation
- Special projects and process OFI's as assigned
- Equipment design calculations as needed
- Accurate handoff's of projects to Project Engineering, Project Management and Design Team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree in chemical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering and 10+ years' working in the water treatment industry.
- Extensive knowledge of ground and surface water treatment processes, water reuse, PFAS remediation, and knowledge of water treatment applications utilizing Kurita America equipment and chemistries.
Physical and Mental requirements: Being able to do the following in a safe and effective manner:
- Climbing, ascending, and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and industrial equipment, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Reaching and extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Standing and walking for sustained periods of time.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and stooping for sustained periods of time.
- Using upper extremities to move objects and equipment with steady force.
- Sometimes working in temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.

- Excellent knowledge of Kurita America's computer systems and applications software
- Excellent working knowledge of all Kurita America products, their application, fabrication, controls, and installation
- Thorough knowledge of Kurita America's organization and procedures of sales generation, pre-qualification, bidding requirements and technical language as well as Territory Management and rep support
- Excellent knowledge of water treatment processes and plant operation
- Good working relationship with Kurita America representative firms and their personnel
- Ability to assist Territory Managers in fielding questions from reps, contractors and engineers
- Routinely exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion
- Routinely assists in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex chemistry and process water treatment
- Works independently without supervision
- Excellent working knowledge of engineering basics and how they apply to Kurita America products, including fluid mechanics, chemistry of water treatment, environmental engineering and potable water treatment regulations
- Knowledge of the proprietary and specifiable features of Kurita America's products
- Comfortable in laboratory settings
