Job Description

The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, transport and delivery of finished goods and raw materials, primarily between the Boston Brewery (SABB) and the Boston Taproom (BTAP), using a company delivery truck or other vehicle. These items will include, but will not be limited to, bulk beer, kegs (full and empty), beer ingredients, and spent grain barrels. The Driver will represent Boston Beer Company, both on site and on the road, and as such must uphold Boston Beer standards and reputation for safety and excellence. The Driver will also assist SABB and BTAP teams as needed with warehousing operations, cleaning, organization, and some limited brewery operations, and could be called upon at times to deliver goods and materials outside of the SABB-BTAP route as well.

Qualified candidates will have experience operating a box truck up to 26' and be able to safely navigate the greater Boston area roadways.

What You'll Brew:



  • Responsible for all pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections, hours of service logs, and all documentation as required by law, USDOT regulations and company policy.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record and valid DOT Medical Card
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of the truck.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper operation of all safety features on the truck.
  • Must complete all training programs provided or assigned by BBC.
  • Safe and responsible operation of vehicle(s) is required at all times.
  • Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting beer, ingredients, and other items, primarily between the Boston Brewery (SABB) and the Boston Taproom (BTAP).
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of the vehicle and delivery of items to their proper destination.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate snow and ice removal from the truck during the winter.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
  • Report defects, accidents and other violations immediately (same day).
  • Complete other related duties and tasks as assigned


What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of commercial truck driving experience in a city environment.
  • Current DOT medical card
  • No suspensions from a moving violation within the past 3 years
  • No DUI or DWI convictions


Desired Experience:



  • Completion of a driving skills and safety course
  • Class B CDL
  • Air brakes and/or tanker endorsements


Level: 9

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the hourly rate is between $17.21 and $33.41 per hour. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
