JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualified applicants must submit applications by December 14, 2025, to be considered for this spring internship opportunity. The anticipated start date is January 14, 2026.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with adults who have lived experience with a mental health diagnosis in an educational group setting
  • Supervised and trained by Psychosocial Recovery Team Lead and Psychosocial Educators
  • Co-facilitate psychoeducation groups relating to the topics of mental health, developing independent life skills/coping skills, etc.
  • Participate in clinical supervision meetings with LCSW
  • Work with staff to develop relevant goals for client's individual progress
  • Help plan monthly topic calendars/group activities that tie in with creative and therapeutic expression
  • Observe care plan development

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 20-30 hours per week
  • Program hours between 08:00am-02:00pm; Monday-Friday
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate course schedule
  • Internship is fully onsite

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in social work, social sciences, or related field
  • Interest in gaining therapeutic/psychoeducation experience
  • Ability to work in team setting; detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills

BENEFITS FOR THE STUDENT

Students will have hands on experience interacting with clients in a group setting. They will work with Psychosocial Educators to plan, develop and facilitate psychoeducational groups for adults who have lived experience with a mental health diagnosis. Students will participate in clinical supervision meetings where they can collaborate with staff on developing relevant goals and objectives for the clients' needs. Students will also gain experience with developing care plan/biopsychosocial assessments.

OTHER INFORMATION

If selected, students will be guided to fulfill a background check and provide three references. This is an unpaid internship.
