Overview

R&P is seeking a qualified individual who is interested in becoming a part of our team. We are a large defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management, and Technical Services to government clients. We are seeking an Amphibious Warfare Engineering Technician with significant experience in deck machinery who is ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.



Responsibilities

- Provides engineering, technical, and programmatic support to PMS 377 and the LPD Class Shipbuilding Program for the oversight, testing, and integration of Deck Machinery and Mission Systems equipment. Ensures compliance with ship specifications, Navy standards, and quality assurance requirements through continuous system validation, coordination, and documentation.

- Provides on-site engineering and technical support for Deck Machinery Integration, including anchor handling systems, cranes, capstans, winches, ramps, cargo handling systems, and deck fittings.

- Supports the integration and readiness of LPD Class mission systems, ensuring all associated deck and handling systems meet design intent and are fully functional prior to trials.

- Witnesses and documents all Mission Systems and Deck Equipment/Machinery tests-recording results, verifying system operation, and grading performance as satisfactory or unsatisfactory.

- Reviews and validates Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs), Contract Deficiency Reports (CDRs), and Trial Cards for accuracy, completeness, and technical adequacy. Provides engineering-based recommendations for resolution.

- Provides general technical management support, design review, and troubleshooting assistance to the shipbuilder and government representatives.

- Participate in Builders Dock Trials, Sea Trials, Acceptance Trials, and Final Contract Trials.



Qualifications

    Former LHA/LPD Deck/Engineering Department (Auxiliaries) sailor with Afloat Training Group experience is preferred.
  • LHA/LPD Well Deck/Vehicle Deck/Flight Deck Operations experience is desired.
  • LHA/LPD Marine Corps Cargo and Boat Handling operations experience is desired.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
