The SeniorPayroll Accountant performs a wide variety of advanced payroll accounting or activities including the preparation of financial statements and management reports that require the application of professional accounting standards and follow established company policies and procedures. Major Accountabilities
1)Design, develop and/or maintain financial, budgetary, regulatory, statistical and other management reports. 2)Analyze, review and/or reconcile accounts and reports of broad scope and high risk. 3)Recommend enhancements to improve system functionality, internal controls, process efficiencies and quality of reporting. 4)Prepare journal vouchers and sensitive or complex billings and payments in support of payroll transactions. 5)Provide direction in the resolution of outstanding items as needed. 6)Assist and advise business units in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. 7)Perform research and produce ad hoc reporting as needed. 8)Research, review or propose accounting treatment for complex transactions by applying generally accepted accounting principles, FERC regulations, and company accounting policies.Interpret changes in accounting rules and determine impact to company policies and/or practices. 9)Assist in the development of related internal communications and policy/procedure updates. 10) Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers. 11) Respond to business unit inquiries or data requests from all levels management. Research and resolve more complex requests. 12) Lead or participate in projects involving cross functional teams. 13) May serve as functional expert on project teams addressing issues that have significant impact across multiple areas of the company Export Compliance / EEO Statement
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws'). Therefore, some positions may require applicants to be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws. All applicants will be required to confirm their U.S. person or non-US person status. For positions at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations (PVNGS) all openings will require applicants to be a U.S. person. Hybrid: Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location. *Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees). *Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up. *Role types are subject to change based on business need. | |
