Duke Energy's Talent Acquisition team has an exciting opportunity for an initiative-taking and professional Recruiter. The mission of our Talent Acquisition team is to attract top talent to Duke Energy and build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. The ideal candidate will have good relationship management and recruiting skills. This individual will be responsible for delivering a positive and efficient candidate experience by demonstrating effective communication skills and providing candidates with accurate and complete information. This role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. It will be critical to stay current with industry trends, developments and changes especially related to a high-level talent pool.

The Associate Recruiting Specialist role is the next step in the Recruiter hierarchy and takes on responsibilities from both the Recruiting Specialist role as well as from the Recruiting Coordinator role. An Associate Recruiting Specialist will have the necessary knowledge and experience to perform all the administrative duties of the Recruiting Coordinator and will also be able to successfully recruit and hire for external positions which recruit and hire primarily entry level and intern/co-op candidates.The successful applicant will be responsible for all phases of the hiring process and for ensuring satisfaction with hiring managers, candidates, new hires and other stakeholders by providing responsive, high quality, professional service and support in the administrative and recruiting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with other Recruiters and Hiring Managers to create a strategic recruiting plan to attract top industry talent with focus
  • Build and maintain relationships with local universities and student organizations
  • Build candidate database through effective sourcing and recruiting
  • Provide consultation to hiring managers and other stakeholders in alignment with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as departmental processes
  • Conduct intake sessions with hiring managers for the creation of job requisitions
  • Create and complete requisitions in Workday in alignment with internal processes
  • Source candidates for jobs through internal and external tools and resources, social media, job boards, etc.
  • Pre-screen applicants
  • Extend verbal offers to candidates and negotiate, as needed
  • Work effectively with assigned Recruiting Coordinator to ensure that all steps within the hiring and onboarding processes are completed accurately and timely

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree listed above, High School/GED AND four (4) or more years of related work experience

*Currently enrolled and actively pursuing a Bachelor'sdegree from an accredited college or university may be considered, with a graduation date of no later than May, 2026

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an HR related field
  • Previous Duke Energy internship experience
  • Must be able to manage multiple sources of data and information in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level user of Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must be very professional and able to represent the Duke Energy Corporation in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge & experience following Duke Energy hiring policies and practices.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent oral, written communications and presentation skills.
  • Experience networking and proactively recruiting various skill sets
  • Experience gathering detailed business requirements from customers
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and/or Yello
  • Effective planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team setting/collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments and display strong organizational skills

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid work environment- 2-3 days per week in office)
  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
  • 30% travel
