Overview:

At Advisors Excel, our Life Operations division plays a critical role in helping advisors deliver outstanding service to their clients-and we're looking for a strategic, people-focused leader to take this team to the next level.


As the Vice President of Life Operations, you'll oversee the overall success of our Life Operations division, which includes our new business, case management, underwriting, training, and inforce teams. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work closely with the President of Life to set and execute the strategic vision, drive operational excellence, and support our advisors and partners through innovation and collaboration.


You'll also serve as a key member of the Life Leadership Team-evaluating tools, technologies, and processes to improve efficiency and scalability, while helping shape the long-term strategy that keeps Advisors Excel a leader in the financial services industry.


What you'll do:


  • Champion the Advisors Excel philosophy through authentic leadership and communication.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and their teams.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to discuss performance, productivity, and process improvement opportunities, while resolving challenges as they arise.
  • Partner with AE Recruiting to participate in the hiring and interview process for all Life Operations openings, ensuring the right talent and culture fit for the team.
  • Establish and track performance goals, key performance indicators, and process metrics to ensure operational excellence.
  • Partner with Life Sales Leaders to align best practices and enhance advisor support.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, carrier partners, and internal departments to drive efficiency and service quality.
  • Work closely with legal and technology teams on the execution of new contracts and renewal contracts with all vendors.
  • Partner with accounting on reconciliation of APS/exam billing and invoices.
  • Manage the Life Operations budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Advocate for operational technology enhancements and process automation.
  • Represent Life Operations at company events, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Support compliance, training, and operational standards to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.


Experience you'll bring:


  • 8+ years of experience in Life Insurance operations (Brokerage General Agency or Insurance Carrier).
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role with proven operational management success.
  • Strong communicator-professional, confident, and adept at building trust across all levels.
  • Strategic thinker who's comfortable making decisions and managing competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify solutions, and lead through change.
