Multi-site responsibility. Lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of division goals and objectives in Environment, Health, Safety, & Compliance.
Will report to the Division EHS Manager and work with the plant staff on a regular basis. Develop and implement programs and procedures to meet environmental objectives Key focus points include:
- Environmental Regulatory Compliance
- Complete and submit all required regulatory reporting for air emissions, toxic chemicals, waste disposal, storm water discharges and hazardous materials reporting.
- Lead and support environmental sustainability programs including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and recycling efforts.
- Ensure energy reduction best practices and sustainability initiatives are implemented consistently across all sites, including monitoring energy usage, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with site teams to achieve energy efficiency goals.
- Track and report on environmental KPIs such as energy consumption, waste reduction, or spill reduction.
- Provide environmental training and awareness for plant staff (waste handling, spill response, permit conditions).
- Conduct routine environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments; coordinate corrective actions and document closure.
- Support external environmental audits and implement corrective action plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local environmental regulatory agencies; prepare and submit required notifications, reports, and permit applications; coordinate inspections and respond to agency requests and notices in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with Corporate EHS Policies and Directives.
- Direct the division's waste management (recycling) program.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into projects and process changes.
- Advise on compliance aspects of new product introductions, process changes, and capital projects.
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience). - A strong working knowledge of EHS regulations. - Experience in a manufacturing environment a must. - Experience in Ergonomics and Behavior Based Safety a plus. - 5+ years of applicable experience. - Can work independently. - Excellent communication and computer skills. - Creative ability in insuring safety of employees, the environment while meeting the needs of production. - Ability to plan and implement EHS programs. - Strong presentation skills. - Ability to work effectively with management as well as associates from the floor. - Must be able to travel and work out of the office.
