EEG Technician

Perform routine EEG testing for referred patients.

• Prepare patients and explain procedures.
• Perform testing, per MCN protocols.
• Process test results for interpretation as instructed.
• Maintain equipment.
• Follow Clinic policies for infection control during performance of the test and in the handling and disposal of infectious and hazardous waste material.
• Travel to designated clinics and hospitals and transport equipment as assigned.

Perform miscellaneous clerical duties.

• Obtain patient data for billing purposes.
• Complete charge tickets for data entry.
• Log and file reports.
• Prune ambulatory EEGs as directed.
• Participate in practice improvements by implementing changes to procedures/workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting with the delivery of compassionate and personalized patient care.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of Electro neurodiagnostic Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Education in Neurodiagnostic Technology.
• One to three years of experience in EEG tech position preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient centered, strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Ability to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with electronic health record (Epic preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding.
• Good human relations and communications skills.
• Ability to perform EEG's with a high degree of accuracy and reliability.
