Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking an experienced transactional paralegal to support our nationally-recognized public finance lawyers who represent governmental entities, investment banks, financial institutions, trustees, and borrowers, including 501(c)(3) organizations in virtually every type of municipal/public finance transaction. This position is located in Phoenix and offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic Phoenix-based public finance team and support our top-tier national public finance team of over 50 professionals.

This hybrid position offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in the Phoenix office.

Your Role:

As a Paralegal within our Public Finance team, you will:

• Work closely with lawyers on the preparation of documentation for municipal bond offerings/borrowings, including drafting documents and opinion letters; organizing, proofreading and assembling documents; and coordinating closing logistics.

• Conduct due diligence; gather and organize financial data related to bond issuers and borrowers from public sources.

• Prepare and file UCC Financing Statements; research industry databases, publicly available information from local governments and other sources, and assist lawyers with reviewing the applicable law.

Required Experience:

Minimum requirements include a four-year college degree and significant transactional experience. Prior paralegal experience and/or paralegal certificate preferred. An intermediate level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel) and strong basic mathematical skills is necessary. Experience with document management systems is required. Must be able to work overtime, as needed. Prior work experience in the public finance industry is desirable.
